High Court of Meghalaya has issued a notice to the state government for not adhearing to setting up of integrated weighbridges aimed at checking overloading of vehicles.
After the matter related to Dalu integrated weighbrdige came up for hearing on May 2, the division bench issued notices to the government and fixed the hearing for June 6.
The petitioner Tennydard Marak was represented by Advocate Pooja Agarwal and assisted by Prince W A Majumdar and Z.R.Majumdar.
After the earlier PIL in this regard was disposed of by the High Court in 2023 giving room for the petitioner to move the court again if there is no adherence on the part of the government, the petitioner filed a fresh PIL stating that the government has not set up the integrated weighbridge at Dalu..
For the respondents, government advocates N Syngkon and JN Rynjah appeared.
Senior officials of concerned government departments, police officers among others are the respondents.
